The Bloomington Area Arts Council is the Indiana Arts Commission's Regional Arts Partner for Region 8—Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Monroe, and Owen Counties.

Objectives
Regional Arts Partnership grant programs are designed "to provide general public access to quality arts and cultural activities with special attention to underserved communities." At minimum, eligibility requirements for organizations or public agencies include evidence of non-profit, tax-exempt status and an arts component to programs and services. There are four grant categories available.
All grants require matching funds.

All applicants are required to submit a Letter of Intent
by February 28, 2007.

Application Deadline is March 30, 2007

  • Arts Organization Support (AOS) Level 1 underwrites general operating expenses for small to mid-sized arts organizations having at least one year of arts programming history, a governing body, and an annual financial audit, review, or compilation. 
  • Arts Organization Support (AOS) Level 2 underwrites general operating expenses for mid to larger-sized arts organizations having more than one year history, paid staff, a strategic plan, and an annual financial audit. 
  • Arts Project Support (APS) underwrites expenses for a one-time event, production, exhibition, residency, or series provided by a non-profit or public agency which supports a distinct aspect of the organization's arts activities. 
  • Mini-Grant Program offers support for new and existing arts projects produced or presented by non-profit organizations or public agencies. Preference will be given to organizations addressing the needs of underserved communities in Greene, Brown, Owen, and Lawrence Counties.
