The Bloomington Area Arts Council in collaboration with the Indiana Arts Commission has identified community needs, defined goals, and recommended actions to develop arts and culture in South Central Indiana to enable arts providers to better serve citizens and visitors.

A 2003 publication from Americans for the Arts provides compelling evidence that the non-profit arts are a $44.5 million dollar industry in Bloomington--one that attracts audiences, spurs business development, supports jobs, and generates government revenue.
